At Femmes à Aimer, we believe every woman deserves to feel valued, loved, and respected, regardless of their circumstances. Since 2011, this annual Valentine’s Day initiative has brought joy, hope, and empowerment to incarcerated women in Haiti. Through music, gifts, and meaningful interactions, we aim to create a moment of connection and humanity for women who often feel forgotten.
How It All Began
The vision for Femmes à Aimer was born from the heart of Haitian artist BélO. Understanding the transformative power of music and human kindness, BélO began inviting fellow artists to join him in sharing love and solidarity with women in Haiti’s prisons. What started as a simple gesture of compassion has grown into a cherished tradition that touches the lives of many.

For many incarcerated women, Femmes à Aimer is more than a Valentine’s Day celebration—it’s a rare opportunity to feel human again. It’s a moment of laughter, inspiration, and empowerment that lights up their world, however briefly. The event also serves to shine a light on the importance of compassion and second chances, fostering a sense of community beyond the prison walls.
